This method has been adapted from stone quarries, where they are used for grinding the stone and to extract stone blocks. The system comprises a diamond chain, which is driven by an electrical or hydraulic engine, a set of pulleys and the pneumatic or hydraulic system. It makes possible cuttings with different degrees of complexity on surfaces with different shapes. Its principal advantages are:
- High versatility and the possibility to combine it with other methods, especially with other auxiliary cracking methods.
- No vibrations are produced on the cutting structure. For this reason, it can be used on delicate structures.
- Thanks to its remote control it is safe to operate and free of risks from mechanical, electrical or chemical actions.
- The cut is clean and the surrounding surface is not damaged.
- Much more silent than any other method.
- It can be used under water.
- Useful for situations where no other methods can be used.
